Our Story
As the owner of one of Australia’s leading electrical, control and safety systems engineering companies I&E Systems, Dermot Kennedy knew the world of documents and the control of them, very well.
In the early 1990s he came to the realisation that the design, delivery and management of complex systems could be done better using computers. He believed that the industry could work faster and smarter by eliminating time-consuming work practices centred on drawings and documents. He pondered over this problem and searched for a software solution, but none existed. So, he decided to create the software solution himself and the concept of dad came to life.
Fast forward 20 years and dad has been used by change leaders across the world on major greenfield projects and brownfield operations. From mining to communications, from rail to building services; on small projects to enormous ventures.
